Manchester has quickly become the centre of the Government’s ‘Northern Powerhouse’ project, and with continued revival efforts and investment into the city, there has never been a better time to progress your career through an MBA at Manchester Metropolitan University.
We’re excited to launch the Northern Powerhouse Scholarship – aimed at supporting the workforce in Manchester as a reflection of the city’s overall investment in development, and its prominence as a business hub in the region.
As part of the scholarship, there are two different prizes on offer to successful applicants:
- First prize - £6,000 off the full MBA fee
- Second prize - £3,000 off the full MBA fee
The Northern Powerhouse Scholarship will sit alongside our other current MBA scholarships – the Women In Business Scholarship. The aim of this scholarship is to not only reflect the city’s status as a business hub, but to also showcase our commitment to nurturing world-class business professionals. It also offers the two winners a chance to study at MMU Business School – which ranks in the top 5% of global universities – with a significantly reduced tuition fee.
A worthwhile investment
Studying for an MBA is a worthy investment for businesses and employees alike, because it allows employers to retain and develop top talent, whilst giving individuals the opportunity to learn new skills and progress in their careers. A 2014 survey by the Association of MBAs found that one of the real values of studying an MBA is that students are statistically more likely to progress in their careers once they have graduated.
Our MBA students will not only benefit from the University’s strong links with local and regional businesses, but will also gain internationally recognised qualifications, because our MBA courses are accredited by the Association of MBAs.
Entry requirements for the scholarship are a CV and an elevator pitch explaining why you deserve the MBA scholarship. All MBA courses are eligible for this scholarship.
The Northern Powerhouse Scholarship is open to individual applicants, and to businesses that wish to nominate an employee who they believe would be a worthy recipient of the prize.
Applications are now closed, but why not find out about other funding options available to you.
